Frank Edward Horace Durrant
Born in the U.K. on December 4th, 1911, Frank was the son of Cecil and Amy.
Nothing is known of Frank’s early years, and little is known of his service to King and Country during WW2, although we do know that he was a Squadron Leader with the Royal Air Force between 1939-1945.
Frank married Louise May Way on June 8,1940. He was 28 and she was 24 and both were living in the County of Middlesex, England
During his service, Frank apparently developed a friendship with R.C.A.F. Flight Lieutenant James Forbes Evans of Georgetown, Ontario, Canada while James was stationed in England. Following the war, James and Frank maintained their friendship and several years after James’s death, Frank and James’s widow June, married. The couple made their home at 5 Valleyview, Georgetown.
Frank died on April 3, 1994, at the age of 82 and was buried far from home, in Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
Frank was Past Master of United Grand Lodge of England, Past Deputy Chairman and Director of Sedwick Forbes, London and a Retired Member of Lloyds of London.
Truly a Hero. His story lives on.
